Early Day Motions

MPs’ own version of a petition — any MP can table an Early Day Motion (EDM) on anything (a policy demand, a constituency issue, a tribute), and other MPs add their name to show support. Unlike a bill, an EDM is very rarely debated or voted on — its real purpose is almost always to demonstrate the strength of feeling behind an issue. Covers motions tabled 2026-04-13 to 2026-10-29.

Read this before drawing conclusions. This only tracks each motion’s primary sponsor (the MP who tabled it) and a running total of how many other MPs have added their name — not the list of who those other MPs actually are. So every ranking here is “motions this MP has tabled,” never “motions this MP has signed.” An EDM can stay open for signing for months, so a sponsor count for anything tabled more than 180 days ago may be out of date — Hear, Hear only re-checks motions within that rolling window on each refresh.
